It's not every day that you stumble back in time on a wedding day, but that is exactly what it feels like at Cranberry Creek Gardens in Delhi, Ontario. This is not without a great level of intention and thoughtfulness put into every detail. From the moment you drive up, whether to the beautiful Salon or to the quaint Chapel, you can tell you are in a place that really is meant to stir up feelings of something like nostalgia, but that's not quite it. No, it's more like a deeper resonance, a vibration you feel that tells you, you are in a place meant for love, that has seen so many beautiful stories in it's time.

Julia &amp; Alex had their Ceremony at Cranberry Creek, before heading back to Waterloo for their reception. With a few big changes to their wedding day last minute (Alex just started his career as a Firefighter and it made their initial plans untenable) Cranberry Creek came to the rescue and honestly I truly couldn't imagine them getting married anywhere else. Julia wore a stunning vintage dress that fit right in with the vibe of the venue, and their small, intimate guest list made the chapel feel so cozy and together. Though our time at Cranberry Creek was brief, we did our best to take full advantage of the chapel, the grounds and the barn. From a photography standpoint, it really feels like their are infinite possibilities and the sunset and night portraits are something I can't wait to shoot next season.

The other thing that really struck me was the kindness and attentiveness of the team at Cranberry Creek. Their Venue Manager Kayleigh was just so welcoming and accommodating, making sure our time spent their was as smooth as possible, and that we new all the prettiest spots for photos. Also, I can't confirm this, but rumor has it that she Line Dances?! I am truly so excited to say that for the 2025 season you will see my name on the list of preferred vendors, and I hope it means I get to spend a lot more time with the whole Cranberry Creek Gardens Team.

I love couples that are willing to have fun and try interesting things. Within the first 10 minutes of my session with Shannon &amp; Fred, I knew it was going to be a fun evening. Shannon &amp; Fred are getting married in December, so late spring was really great timing for an engagement shoot. It meant that we could have a totally different vibe from their wedding photos, and we definitely had a vibe going here.

The inspiration: Waterloo Date Night
We met at Waterloo Park and snapped a few photos to get the jitters out. After we got the &ldquo;Grandma Shots&rdquo;, basically the photos that Grandma would like to see (I am pretty sure I lifted this term from Liam Good, but I can&rsquo;t remember), we dove into some more creative ideas. I had an idea a little while back for a particular area in the park, which I test-shot with my lovely partner, and I took Shannon &amp; Fred there to see what we could create.

We kept moving through the park, dodging a few cyclists and strollers as we took over the bridge and then tried out some more interesting shots near the water. The sun was still pretty high so we had to just lean in and play with some of the harsh shadows and vibrant colours, and I&rsquo;m so glad we did.

After the park we strolled down to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/Bodega.Rose/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bodega Rose</a> for cocktails. If you haven&rsquo;t been to Bodgea Rose yet, run, don&rsquo;t walk. It&rsquo;s such a great little uptown spot with super good food, cocktails and vibes. Also Ice Cream, so like&hellip; go for it!
We snapped a whole ton of photos here at Bodega Rose and took some time to just chat and get to know each other better. This is one of the best parts of engagement sessions. Shannon &amp; Fred are such interesting, kind and fun people and having the chance to just sit down and connect before the wedding is SO important. After Bodega we were pretty much legally obligated to take photos at the Orange Wall and finished off the night in Waterloo Square. I might be biased, but it seemed like a pretty good date.
